eye contact and role modelswe played a show yesterday. very cool and nice and awesome and energetic crowd (i never thought close acquaintances could be moshed to, but it happened, anyway.)
something fun that happened: a super nice group of people came up and spoke with each of us and asked us to sign our setlist... i was definitely not prepared. lol. i've never even thought about what a proper signature for this context would look like -- like, i didn't want to just write my boring government-approved signature, you know what i mean? but, honestly, it would have probably worked out better than what i actually wrote; literally just my name with a smiley face next to it. lol. i guess that's something i have to work on.
speaking of things i need to work on: EYE CONTACT. yesterday, i tried actually not just staring at the wall and the microphone and my friends and standing in the same spot for the whole set. and speaking. you know, normal things performers do. i think. i'm just glad i didn't feel as awkward as i did last time, lol. practice makes... better?
i think it also helps that i've been collecting and watching a bunch of random videos of bands i like performing live. here's some of my favorites off my playlist:
there's just so much energy, and i love this song so so much. the things i would give to hear this live...
yes that's nate ruess and his band before fun.
okay this one is probably the most random one BUT. i just really like spg... rabbit is so cool...
i'll stop here before i end up putting everything (but if you want to see the rest, just click here.) it's just so fun watching people play music... music so cool. i love music. yaaay music.
before i go... if you've read this far (somehow,) here's some fun news: we actually have solid plans, now. for a single. like, for real. for real for real. we have recording dates, we're planning a music video, and we're gathering all our friends to help. i'm so excited. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay, bye.
